I did my degree in Biophysics at Russian State Medical University (former 2nd Moscow Medical Institute). After that I was an engineer in Research Institute of Medical Technics in Moscow (1989-1992). In 1992-1995 I worked as a programmer (Analytica Ltd., Moscow). In 1995 I came to England and since 1996 worked as a Library assistant in Brotherton Library, University of Leeds until June 1998.
I joined the EBI in August 1998 as Database Curator (EMBL database).
