I joined the SRS Group at the EBI in September 1997. My work concerns semi-structured data, distributed objects and client/server architectures. I am developing a tool that will generate CORBA wrappers (both IDL definitions and C++ implementation) for accessing the SRS system developped in the group.
My backgroung is Computer Science. I got a M.Sc. in Software Engineering from the University of Nancy, France, a M.Sc. in Information Systems and a Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Grenoble, France. My previous research activities dealt with active databases (databases with Event-Condition-Action rules) and object-oriented databases. I was in particular involved in the GOODSTEP Esprit III European Project whose goal was to build an object-oriented platform (based on the O2 OODBMS) to build sofware engineering environments.
From 1993 to 1997, I was also a Teaching Assistant at the University of Grenoble and the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, France.
